Aloo Ka Halwa – Navratri Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 medium size potatoes
  • ½ cup deshi ghee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1tbsp green cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (kaju,badam and raisins)
  • Few strands of kesar

How to make Aloo Ka Halwa

  • Wash, boil, peel and grate  the potatoes.
  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottom or a non stick pan.
  • Add grated potatoes, sugar and one cup milk.
  • Stir continuously as it tends to stick to the bottom a little.
  • Cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the halwa starts leaving ghee.
  • Add  kesar strands dissolved in one tsp of milk, green cardamom powder.
  • Garnish with chopped  nuts and serve hot.
