Delicious Lauki Ka Halwa – Navratri Recipe

  • 4 cups grated Lauki/Bottle Gouard/Doodhi
  • ½ cup desi ghee/ clarified butter
  • ½  cup khoya
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp green cardamom  powder
  • 1/2 cup choped almonds,raisins and melon seeds

 How to make Lauki Ka Halwa :

  • Heat  2 tsp  ghee in a heavy bottom pan or non stick pan.
  • Saute the grated lauki for 2 minutes.
  • Add milk and keep stirring till it reduces and become thick on a low flame.
  • Add sugar  and mix well and cook  till all the moisture evaporated from the halwa
  • Add grated  khoya, cardamom powder, ghee  and cook further till the ghee starts leaving the side of the pan.
  • Garnish with chopped almonds, raisins and melon seeds and serve hot.
