Sabudana Kheer - Navratri RecipeIngredients

  • 5 cupsĀ  milk
  • 2 tablespoons sabudana/sago
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • A pinch of saffron
  • 8-10 finely chopped blanched almonds and raisins

How to make Sabudana Kheer:

  • Wash,rinse and soak sabudana for 20 minutes.
  • Heat the milkĀ  in a thick bottom pan or a non stick pan.
  • Cook on low heat till the milk thickens a little.
  • Add sabudana to the milk and keep on stirring till the sabudana is cooked.
  • Add sugar, saffron, cardamom powder and mix well and stir for another 5-7 minutes.
  • Garnish the sabudana kheer almonds and raisins.
  • Serve kheer either hot or chilled.
