Sabudana(Sago) Vadas – Navratri Recipe

  • 1 cup Sabudana
  • 3 to 4 medium potatoes
  • ¼ cup peanuts roasted and crushed
  • 1-2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp kuttu/singhade  ka atta
  • Sendha namak to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • Oil for frying

 How to make Sabudana Vadas

  • Soak the sabudana in water for at least 2-3  hours
  • Use sieve to drain  the water from  soaked sabudana.
  • Wash, boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
  • Mix the mashed potatoes and sabudana together.
  • Add peanuts, sendha namak green chillies, coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • Mix the entire mixture well. If necessary sprinkle some kuttu atta for good binding of vadas.
  • Now take some portion of the mixture in your hands and shape them into flat round vadas
  • Deep fry the sabudana vadas till golden brown.You can also shallow fry them on a non stick tava.
  • Serve sabudana vada with  curd or green chutney.
